Connected staffing

Smart shift filling.
Right flex workers,
fast and compliant.

Most staffing platforms digitize the same broken process: planners on the phone, Excel sheets at dawn, shifts lost to whoever calls first. Connected Staffing rewrites the loop. Shifts arrive in any format, the right candidate gets matched in seconds, and your planners stop firefighting so they can finally do what staffing is actually about: building the community that fills the next shift.

  • Shifts arrive in any format 01

Your clients keep working the way they already work. bookU does the translation in the background, so every shift lands in the same place, structured the same way, ready to be filled.

  • Numbering 02

bookU doesn’t broadcast shifts and hope. It selects the candidates who fit, ranks them, and reaches them where they live: their phone. The matching engine learns from every confirmation, so it keeps getting sharper.

  • Confirmed, registered, paid 03

Once a candidate accepts, the rest happens without a planner touching it: contract, time registration, hours to payroll. Connected Staffing is the only thread between request and payout.

How it works

Any format in, structured shifts out

Clients send shifts however they want: Excel, email, a portal, an API, … bookU reads them, structures them, and queues them up for matching. The planner sees clean, ready-to-fill demand instead of an inbox.

Time-to-fill as a feature

bookU matches each shift against skills, distance, availability and personal preference, then pushes it to the candidates most likely to say yes. The first to fill wins the shift and increasingly, the first to fill is you.

The end of the cold call

Once matching is automatic, planners stop being dispatchers. They become the people who know your community: who’s at risk of churning, who’s ready for more responsibility, who’d thrive with a different client. The work that actually grows a staffing agency.

TMI
From planning to orchestrating

From plan-and-call to coach-and-curate

Before bookU, TMI’s childcare planners spent their day on the phone. Shifts arrived by email, were typed into Excel, then pushed out via individual calls and WhatsApp messages. Client approval could take one to three days per shift. Since going live in April 2025, the same team fills 60 to 83% more hours each month. Their planners didn’t disappear; they got upgraded. They now spend their time on the things that grow a community: handwritten cards to top workers, personal check-ins after shifts, finding the candidate who’d thrive at a new location. Onboarding a new client used to take three days. Now it takes thirty minutes.

“We're filling 60 to 80% more hours every month, with the same planning team. They now spend the freed-up time building our community instead of chasing shifts.”

FAQ

The things operations leaders ask before changing their staffing engine. If yours isn’t here, ask us.

  • It’s built for high-volume staffing — 1,000+ shifts a week, 50+ offices, multi-vendor environments — but the same engine scales down. The benefit is biggest where the manual cost is biggest and where time is of the essence.

  • Yes. We don’t ask your clients to change how they work. We translate whatever they send into something bookU can match against your community.

  • All of them. Excel, email, API, partner platforms, custom client portals, … Connected Staffing’s intake engine reads what your clients send and converts it into structured shifts automatically.

  • No, it changes what they do. With matching automated, planners stop dispatching and start curating. At TMI, the childcare team kept all its planners and moved them into community-building, account coaching, and candidate growth. The roles got better. The team got more done.
